Who are we?
Alexander Mjelde
Born in 1985 Bergen, Norway. Completed one year of Pedagogics at NLA before joining the Sinonor project in China. The Sinonor project is a volunteer exchange program between Red Cross Nordic United World College and Ningxia University, sponsored by Fredskorpset. Living as a volunteer in Ningxia(2006/07), he had several teaching jobs around the cit of Yinchuan. The primary job of the volunteers was teaching oral english to the blind, mentally disabled and University students in Ningxia.
Returning to Norway Alexander spent one year working in a school for deaf and hearing impaired children in Bergen. After this he would together with Tora and Qin Wen create the SYCNNO organisation. The first project "Together to Beijing" took place the first two weeks of september 2008, during the Beijing Paralympic games. He is currently working several jobs in Bergen,primarly with disabled people.
Tora Hope
Born in 1987 Dale, Norway. Tora joined the Sinonor project right after graduating from high school in 2006. She was teaching oral english at Ningxia University and the mentally disabled school of Yinchuan. Once a week Tora worked at the Ningxia Special Education School, teaching written english to a class of deaf students.
Returning to Norway in 2007 Tora joined the development studies at the University of Bergen. She is currently working for Framo Engineering as a secretary assistant.
Qin Wen
She is currently working in Ningxia University as a transelator and office assistant. Qin Wen joined the Sinonor project in 2005, spending one year in Norway teaching chinese.
In 2008 she joined Alexander and Tora's project "Together to Beijing" and the organisation SYCNNO. She joined and co-organised the project in september 2008. She is now the main project manager of Sycnno in China and will continue working on the current project "Deaf Youth Cafe".
